In our case, the sample is Devil Pepper with a high content of capsaicin, making it difficult to fully extract into the buffer in a short period of time. When the sensor is inserted into the G4, the extraction process is still ongoing, causing the result reading to change. If this explanation is correct, it suggests that the second reading may be more reliable.
The customer only requires us to provide them with a highly operational and reliable test method. They are not concerned about whether the capsaicin is fully extracted; they simply want to know how to perform the test and which result to trust. We can now inform the customer that the second reading is the correct one. In the future, if we encounter a similar situation, we can advise the customer to rely on the final reading. Is this correct?
